April 7th is National Beer Day, celebrating the date that the Cullen-Harrison Act went into effect in 1933, legalising the sale of beer and wine, essentially ending Prohibition in the United States. Upon signing the legislation, President Franklin D. Roosevelt remarked “I think this would be a good time for a beer.”
We couldn’t agree more. So to celebrate this year’s anniversary, the Crescent City Homebrewers will be meeting up at Bayou Beer Garden (326 N. Norman C. Francis Pkwy) at 7 PM. The Beer Garden has a wide variety of beers available, so there’s something for everyone. Happy Hour is 3-6:30 PM.
