General Meeting February 1, 2023

Meeting called to order at 7:05

Motion made to dispense with the reading of the minutes.

Neil brought pictures of the beer steins that have been ordered.  Several are for previous presidents of the club, but others were paid for by members.

Treasurer’s report from Craig Laginess:  Dues are due by March 1, 2023.  Winterfest was very successful with about 320 people attending.  Final figures are being tallied, but it appears that approximately $10,000 was raised.  Deutsches Haus also had a great night with the sale of food plates. 

DUMBO report from Chad Bowman:  Brewoffs upcoming are Fish Memorial Sausage Fest on April 15th with Will Thompson as the brewmaster.  Steve Clark gave an update:  There will be bulk as well as links and the signup sheet is available tonight.  There will be Chorizo, Italian sausage, and Green Onion sausage. Lunch and 3 lbs. of sausage will be $15.00. 

Education Czar report from Hector Meier:  Anyone in CCH can participate in the contest with Irish stout being the beer for this month.  Bring your entry to the next CCH meeting for BJCP style judging.  60 oz. needed for entry, so five 12 oz. pours for judges to taste.  Next month will be Witbier. 

NOLA on Tap is on March 18th at Lafreniere Park.  We need someone to chair our table.

We are working on a Pig Roast with the proposed date being Mother’s Day weekend with location TBA.

The Pensacola crew is looking to come in for a Brewery/Pub Crawl on June 3rd and would like to meet up with us.  More details will follow.

Brewing in a Bathing Suit 1st event in June at Neil’s house with more details to follow.  The 2nd event will hopefully be in August at Barney’s house. 

July 1st is the date being floated for the Beer Bus Tour to the Gulf Coast. 

Jack Horne announced that his team will be selling barbecue plates at Skeeta Hawk Friday night with $1 from each pint sold benefitting Hogs for the Cause.

Pub Pass Passport Party at 2nd line on Friday night from 6:30 – 8:30.  There is a booklet or the app is available for your phone.
